Meet Sarah

Functional Fitness Personal Trainer

Welcome to Thrive with Sarah — a place where movement is about far more than exercise. It’s about building strength, confidence, resilience, and the freedom to live life well at every age.

 

My name is Sarah and now in my mid-50s, I understand firsthand the challenges that life, health, and change can bring. My own health difficulties have taught me something incredibly powerful: movement can support us physically, mentally, and emotionally. Exercise became more than fitness for me — it became a way to regain strength, restore confidence, and keep moving forward through life’s challenges.

 

These challenges inspired me to complete my Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification and create Thrive with Sarah — a 1-to-1 functional fitness coaching service designed especially for adults over 40 who want to move well, live well, and thrive.

 

I know how intimidating it can feel to start something new. I’ve had to overcome my own anxieties to begin this new chapter, which is why I approach every client with empathy, encouragement, and understanding. Whether you’re returning to exercise after years away, managing stress, rebuilding confidence, or simply wanting to feel stronger and more capable in everyday life, you will always be welcomed without judgement.

 

My focus is on functional fitness — helping you improve the movements that matter most in daily life. Together, we’ll work on strength, balance, mobility, posture, energy, and confidence so you can feel more capable in your body and more positive in yourself.

 

I believe fitness is not about perfection, punishment, or chasing unrealistic goals. It’s about creating a healthier, stronger life that allows you to continue doing the things you love — now and in the years ahead.

 

The quote that continues to resonate with me – and which I first read in ‘Trust Yourself First: Cultivating Self Awareness, Confidence and Resilience’ by Doris Sew Hoy – is:

 

“When you let go of what you are, you become what you might be.” — Lao Tzu

 

Starting Thrive with Sarah is my own leap into becoming what I might be — and I would love to help you discover what is possible for you too.

I really enjoyed my functional fitness session with Sarah.  She’s very empathetic and positive, clearly explains each exercise’s purpose and which muscles are being targeted, which I found very useful knowledge.  Her training/exercise room is a beautiful and welcoming space, full of light. Highly recommend you give Sarah a try if you are looking to move well and live well.

Sarah put together such a well planned exercise program for me, that was perfectly matched to my current fitness. The session was interactive, informative and fun, in a lovely studio setting with mats and weights readily available. We experimented with different weights which was a fun challenge.
